Why this exists

There are trades companies in Northeast Ohio big enough to employ full-time marketing people and keep an agency on retainer. They farm reviews. They farm the map pack. They turn over field staff so fast that the guy who shows up at your house has been there six weeks.

The small shops are usually better. The owner answers his own phone. The owner does the job. His name is on the truck and he acts like it. He responds faster, he charges less, and he cares more about getting the details right.

He also shows up on page three, so he doesn't get the call.

That gap is the entire reason this business exists.

The background

I spent 25 years in IT before any of this. Systems engineer starting in 1999, then sixteen years as VP of Information Systems at a healthcare company — I scaled the technology from 5 locations to 120, supporting about 12,000 employees. After that I ran information systems for a county board. I'm a CISSP.

That isn't marketing experience and I won't dress it up as any. What it is: 25 years of making complicated technical systems work correctly, and knowing the difference between something that's genuinely broken and something that only looks broken. Search is a technical system. Most people selling SEO to contractors have never had to make one work.

I also run Purposeful IT, a separate IT consulting practice. Same person, different problem.

How I work

It's me. Not an account manager, not someone junior doing the work under my name. You call me.

I go on site and take the photos. I write the replies to your reviews. I read the reports every month and tell you what moved and what didn't — including the months when nothing did.

I don't sell packages and I don't sell citations by the hundred. If something isn't worth doing for your business, I'll say so.
